Corangamite Catchment Management Authority

The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA) was established by the Victorian Government to ensure the protection and sustainable development of land, vegetation and water resources within a boundary stretching from Geelong to Ballarat and along the coast to Peterborough.

The CCMA works with landholders and communities in planning and implementing land and waterway management and conservation works in the region.

The CCMA's Regional Indigenous Natural Resource Management Facilitator works with Aboriginal communities, landholders, landcare groups and others to ensure that environmental projects are undertaken in a manner that both meets the cultural heritage policies of the state and federal governments and accounts for the concerns or Aboriginal people in the region.

(European cultural heritage issues must be addressed in a similarly sensitive manner.)

Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative

The Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative provides cultural, community and health services to Aboriginal people in the Geelong  and Bellarine regions.

Ballarat and District Aboriginal Cooperative

The Ballarat and District Aboriginal Cooperative provides cultural, community and health services to Aboriginal people in the Ballarat region.

Framlingham Aboriginal Trust

The Framlingham Aboriginal Trust provides cultural, community and health services to people of the Framlingham community.

Australian Government

Department of Environment & Heritage

The Australian Government Department of the Environment and Water Resources (formerly the Department of the Environment and Heritage) develops and implements national policy, programs and legislation to protect and conserve Australia's natural environment and cultural heritage.

Through the Indigenous Heritage Programme of the department, the Australian Government supports initiatives that help protect and share Australia's Indigenous heritage, including places with Aboriginal cultural significance.
